This feature enables the linking of Jira Issues with an object directly from the feed tab of the object details page in Salesforce. Comments and attachments can also be shared directly from Salesforce to Jira using the feed tab. Hashtags/keywords like #linktoJira and #sendtoJira are used to link an object with Jira Issue(s) and send comments and attachments to Jira. Feed sync should be enabled on the configuration screen of the Sinergify application. See the reference screenshot below.

Note:

If you are using multiple Jira instances then the project of the Jira key provided with #linktoJira should be mapped in the Salesforce org. System will look for the Jira in all the instances until a match is found.

Link the Jira Issues through Feed

Jira can be linked to an object by using the #linktoJira hashtag/keyword along with the Jira key. See the reference screenshot below.

The users have the ability to link directly on a feed comment ensures that users can quickly link or reference specific Jira issues relevant to the conversation. This maintains context, enhances clarity, and ensures all team members are aligned together.

Send the comment to Jira issues through Feed

  1. Send the comment through Feed

You can send comment to multiple Jira issues through the feed using the #sendtojira hashtag.

Feeds must be added in the below format:

#sendtojira Jira Issue key 1, Jira Issue key 2:  <comment>

(For example #sendtojira JPR-44, JPR-43: Customer has reported a bug on priority.)

The newly added feed post will be visible in the linked Jira Instance as Jira comments. Refer to the screenshot below.

  1. Send the comment through Feed comment

You can send comments to multiple Jira issues through the feed comment using the #sendtojira hashtag. This feature is incredibly beneficial during live discussions. When dialogue is dynamic, being able to directly comment on a feed allows participants to swiftly associate specific Jira issues pertinent to the ongoing conversation.

Note:

The feeds from Salesforce into Jira Service Management will be shown as the internal comment.

  1. Manual syncing

Manual syncing provides the capability to choose feed posts and sync to Jira Issues that are tied to the record with the help of the Send Comments/Attachment to Jira button present on the SFDC object.

Comments can be added to the Jira side from Salesforce using the feed tab.

In the dropdown menu, select Send Comments/Attachment to Jira. A new screen will appear, select the Jira Issue to which you want to send the Comment. Once done click “Send to Jira”.

You can also see the feed replies by clicking on the Expand button.

Users can view the Comments in the Related list (refer to the screenshot below).

Send the attachment to Jira issues through Feed

Attachments can be shared from the Salesforce object feed tab to Jira using two ways.

  1. Send the attachments through Feed

You can send the attachments to multiple Jira issues through the feed using the #sendtojira hashtag.

The Feed must be added in the below format:

#sendtojira Jira issue key, Jiraissue key 2 (Add Attachment or inline attachment)

  1. Manual Syncing

Manual syncing provides the capability to choose feed post and sync to Jira Issues that are tied to the record via the Send Comments/Attachment to Jira button present on the SFDC object.

Click ‘Attachments’ below the rich text editor box and add the file once the file is added click ‘Share’.

In the dropdown menu, select Send Comments/Attachment to Jira. A new screen will appear, select the Jira Issue to which you want to send the attachment. Once done click Send to Jira.

Users can view the Comments in the Related list (refer to the screenshot below).
