Syncing of Comments from Salesforce to Jira

1. By enabling Auto-Sync Salesforce Comments under Admin Configuration

When Auto-Sync Salesforce Comments is enabled, comments are synced from:
a. Jira detail page in Salesforce to Jira
b. From case comments to Jira (If case object is linked to Sinergify)

Note: When Auto-Sync Salesforce Comments is enabled for Case object, users can restrict the syncing of comments from case comments by disabling the Sinergify trigger. Go to the custom settings->Sinergy Trigger->JiraAutoComment and update the record with IsActive = false.

The below screenshot shows a synced comment in Jira instance.

2. By Manually Sending the Comments from Salesforce Jira Detail Page to Jira

On the Jira record page in Salesforce, if the user has edit permission, there will be a button visible on Jira record – Send Comment/Attachment to Jira.

Using this button, users can selectively push comments from Salesforce to Jira.

The selected comment(s) will be visible in the Jira instance on clicking ‘Send to Jira’.


The Salesforce usernames are appended below the comments synced from Salesforce to Jira. Refer to the screenshot below.

Syncing Comments from Jira to Salesforce

Comments added on Jira instance can be synced to Salesforce in the following way:

1. By Enabling the ‘Sync Jira Comments into Salesforce’

a. All Comments available on Jira instance are synced to the Jira detail page in Salesforce.

2. By Sending Selective Comments can also be done by Using the Predefined Keywords in Custom Settings

Users can control the syncing of comments from Jira to Salesforce by using some predefined keywords. The comments are added in this format – keyword + comment. In the below screenshot, #sendtosalesforce is the predefined keyword in the custom setting and ‘Working now’ is the comment.

The keywords can be updated/created under ‘JiraCommentQualifier’ record under ‘JiraSalesforceDetail’ custom settings.

  • Editing the Comments on Salesforce Jira Detail Page/Jira InstanceAll the comment updates are also synced between the systems.
  • Deleting the comments on Salesforce Jira Detail Page/Jira Instance

In case the comments are deleted from the Jira detail page in Salesforce, the already synced comments on the Jira side will remain unaffected. Similarly, if comments are deleted from Jira, the synced comments on the Salesforce side will remain unaffected.
